International Snow Sculpture Festival [January]

Artists from all over the world meet at icy temperatures every year in order to create wonderful pieces of art made from snow and ice. Weather permitting these figures can be admired until the end of the winter. The artists create unique and ice-cold sculptures from 3x3 m large ice blocks with the help of different tools. You can of course observe the artists at work since they work under open skies! The finished pieces of art are illuminated at night time so they can also be admired during your evening walk.

Cross-Country Race Dobbiaco - Cortina [February]

On the first day of competition the race takes places in classic style. The finish line is reached after 30 km in Fiames. On the second competition day the free style cross-country race Dobbiaco - Cortina takes place. The track leads along the FIS homologised cross-country track to the Val di Landro Valley, through floodlit tunnels, over wooden bridges to impressive ravines up to 1,530 metres above sea level to Cimabanche and further on through Fiames to the finish line in the village centre of Cortina.
